This is not a virus or an indication of a problem with the mail system.  The IMP interface uses a protocol called IMAP to talk to the mail server.  This message is created in your mailbox by the IMAP mail process itself as part of its internal bookkeeping. If you delete it, it will not cause any major problem.
You see this message if you use IMP *in addition* to a POP mail client like Eudora. The message is hidden from IMAP clients, but visible to POP clients.  The ultimate solution is to use IMAP from Eudora, Netscape, Outlook Express, or whatever you use for mail.  (Using IMAP to read your mail is enough like using POP that the differences are subtle and confusing.)

Pine users:  Type "pine_imap" instead of "pine" to keep pine in synch with IMP.

This is a legacy from the old mail system which can be ignored. These mails can be deleted without any impact to your mail inbox or folders.
